Dr. Ray Pevey will be conducting a scoliosis screening available to all interested students and families this Tuesday, May 8th. Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) is a condition that, to some degree, affects an estimated 10 percent of the 12- to 18-year-old population in the United States. It is a potentially progressive condition which affects children during their active growth phase and, if left untreated, could leave the child with a permanent deformity. Early detection and subsequent treatment can be effective in halting the progress of this condition, and we’re grateful to Dr. Pevey for offering this screening each year on our campus.
